Scott G. Baker
Associate Attorney
The Law Office of Sam Byrd & Associates
When you’re going through one of the hardest seasons of your life, the last thing you want is a lawyer who makes things more complicated. You want someone calm in the chaos. Someone who listens. Someone you can trust to handle the details — so you can breathe again. That’s exactly the kind of advocate Scott G. Baker is.
Born and raised right here in Chattanooga, Scott brings not only deep local roots but also a deep understanding of how to guide families through high-stakes legal matters with clarity and care. Whether he’s helping a parent regain time with their children, navigating a difficult divorce, or protecting someone’s rights through an Order of Protection, Scott shows up with a steady hand, a sharp legal mind, and a heart for service.
Before joining The Law Office of Sam Byrd & Associates, Scott spent years helping people navigate complex disability claims — experience that sharpened his ability to advocate for clients who feel overwhelmed, unheard, or stuck in a system they don’t understand. Over the past five years, he has focused his practice exclusively on family law, representing clients in Hamilton County and surrounding areas with dedication and skill.
Scott is a graduate of Baylor School in Chattanooga and the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He earned his law degree magna cum laude from the University of Memphis School of Law, where he served on the Law Review, and began his legal career clerking for the Tennessee Court of Appeals. His early career shaped a strong foundation in legal writing, strategy, and judicial insight — all of which benefit his clients today.
But Scott’s value goes beyond his résumé. Clients appreciate his ability to stay calm under pressure, to explain legal options in plain language, and to remain focused on what matters most: protecting their future and the people they love. He’s known for being grounded, level-headed, and deeply respectful — qualities that have earned him trust within the legal community and among those he serves.
Outside the courtroom, Scott’s lifelong love of music shines through his guitar playing, and he’s just as passionate about his Tennessee Vols and the Chicago Cubs. When he’s not practicing law, you can find him spending time with friends, family, and his dog, Sport — a reminder that life after conflict can still be full of joy.
If you’re looking for an attorney who can meet you with empathy, guide you with confidence, and advocate with strength — Scott is ready to help.
